  • Rocks & Stars was commissioned by Haringey Music Service commissioned as an end of show spectacle of music and puppetry at the Royal Albert Hall. This was performed by 1200+ school children and conducted by Daniel Earley. With additional orchestrations by Joaquim Badia and part formatting by Thomas Bingham.

The piece celebrates the representation of women and young girls in science, from geology to astronomy, taking inspiration from the work of two scientists: Mary Anning, a fossil hunter from the 1700s, and Maggie Aderin-Pocock, a contemporary British-Nigerian space scientist. The music is accompanied by the voices of Haringey school children, who encourage the audience to find solace in the earth beneath our feet and to fulfil their potential by reaching to the stars. The performance culminates in a musical parade with animation and puppetry designed by Saskia Tomlinson, echoing the themes of earth and sky across the space.
